every country has traditional foods. turkey has a lot of traditional food, like other countries. But I want to tell about sarma. Sarma is made with grape leafs, rice, parsley, onion, tomato paste, red pepper paste, olive oil and spices. Some people add raisin, minced meat and bulghur
first off all wash the grape leaves for remove the dusts. put the water and a teaspoon of salt in a pot.bring them for the boiling.simmer them for 4-5 minutes .then peels the onions,wash and chop them finely .place in a pot together with oil and stirring them for 20 minutes over low heat.wash and drain the rice and add to the pot and stir a couple times .add salt,sugar,and 1 ¾ cups of water.simmer it on first medium and than low heat for 15-20 munites till all the water is reduced.after that wash the parsley and chop them finally .add them to the cooked rice together with mint,spices and the lemon juice and leave covered for 10 munites.place the grape leaves on the straight place so you can wrapped them easily.place the prepared filling to one side and fold the side edges and then wrap it .line up the grape wraps starting from the bottom pf the top simmer over low heat for 50 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish when cool, and garnish with lemon slices. enjoy your meal!
